Course Placement Information

Placement is a key component to the orientation process. You will want to be sure that you have completed the appropriate placement processes before you arrive at your orientation program in order to be ready to register for the right classes during your orientation session.

Even if you have transfer, dual enrollment, AP, IB or CLEP credits you will want to check your Next Steps Center for the placement processes before arriving at New Student Orientation.  Taking the time to be sure you have all the information and scores you need, will help you to build the best schedule you can during orientation.  In many cases students with incoming credits need to complete the placement exams in order to enroll in other courses required of their major.  For example, the Math Placement Exam allows students to register for the appropriate math course, but is also the gateway into many courses in the science areas. Make sure you know what you need to do to enroll in the courses you need for the fall semester.
