Family & Supporters
Congratulations! Your student has decided to join the Wildcat Family. That means we are happy to welcome you to the family also! The Office of New Student Services offers an Orientation program that is in parallel to your student’s session. During New Student Orientation for Families* you will hear from your student’s academic college, learn about resources on campus, make connections with other Wildcat families and uncover strategies for assisting your student in their transition to college.
Family and supporters do not attend their student’s advising appointment. This is a first step for students to advocate for themselves and develop the autonomy they will need to be successful Wildcats.
We welcome you to join us for New Student Orientation. Whether this is your first student attending college, or your last, there is something for you at orientation.
Your student may register you for the program by selecting guest registration when they are selecting their orientation session through the Next Steps Center. If your student has already registered, and you would like to join them at orientation, they can add you to the program by selecting ‘Change My Orientation Reservation’ on their Next Steps Center page.
*There is a per person charge for family members and supporters to attend orientation. This charge helps us to cover the associated costs of managing orientation, including materials, meals and student staff.
