
We’re thrilled you’ve chosen to complete your undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona. As a transfer student, college isn’t new to you — you understand academic expectations, how to juggle workloads and the importance of deepening your social networks in meaningful ways.
We’re here to help you with the information you need. It all starts with your virtual orientation experience during which you’ll attend sessions that cover everything from academics at Arizona to student services and leadership programs.
You’ll also be introduced to University of Arizona offerings that are key to the success of transfer students in particular:
- Transfer Student Center
A “hangout” for transfer students with staff on hand to answer questions and to help make your transition to the University of Arizona smooth and successful. You’ll also get to meet other transfer students at hosted get-togethers and enjoy access to academic resources. - Student Engagement and Career Development
This program offers professional development with interview workshops, on-campus jobs and career fairs. - Veterans Education and Transition Services Center
For veterans, this center provides a thriving community of student veterans who have served our country and are now continuing their education. - THINKTANK
Tutoring and supplemental instruction in three campus locations.

Next Steps Center
Your first stop after being admitted to the University of Arizona, this online portal leads you through the essential steps from admission to your first day of class. Your NetID is required to log in to the Next Steps Center. Enroll in NetID+ and get started at netid-plus.arizona.edu.
Housing
The Kaibab-Huachuca residence hall is home to our Transfer Theme Community. Here you can live alongside peers who are also adjusting to Wildcat life. If you’re interested in living off-campus, Off-Campus Housing and Commuter Services is a free resource for all students.
Transfer Student Checklist
- Set up your NetID and password.
Create your Net ID and password by logging into the Next Steps Center. You’ll need to use the student ID number and PIN provided to you in your admission letter. (You will also need to set up your personal device with NetID+ / Duo Mobile).
- Complete your pre-orientation tasks.
Log in to the Next Steps Center to:
- Pay the enrollment fee
- Sign up for Transfer Student Orientation
- Confirm your residency (if applicable)
- Complete placements
- Upload immunization records
- Send final high school or college transcripts
- Attend virtual Transfer Student Orientation.
The session includes mandatory virtual sessions, optional live chats and virtual drop-ins.
