Orientation walkthrough

YOUR VIRTUAL
ORIENTATION

There are TWO parts to virtual orientation:

1) The Arizona Arrival student portal
2) Meeting with your academic unit on orientation day

Your Arizona Arrival portal must be completed at least 7 days before orientation day - otherwise, you will need to reschedule your session! You can't complete orientation without Arizona Arrival.

ORIENTATION WALKTHROUGH

Follow these steps to prepare for orientation, as well as what you'll need to complete on orientation day itself!

Note: All Zoom meetings will be in Arizona time.

PRE-ORIENTATION

01

Complete "Path to Enrollment"

After you’re admitted, go to Next Steps Center to take care of post-admission tasks in the Path to Enrollment tile, including: NetID+ setup, paying the Enrollment Fee, and confirming your major.

02

Register for virtual orientation

Go to Next Steps Center > Orientation > Virtual Orientation and pick the day that works best for you.

03

Complete Arizona Arrival

Go to Arizona Arrival and sign in using the "Student Access" option.
IMPORTANT: You have up until 7 days before orientation day to finish Arizona Arrival. You cannot complete virtual orientation without it.

04

Send in college transcripts & scores

If you have dual enrollment / transfer credit, have your previous institution(s) send official, electronic college transcripts to REG-transcripts@arizona.edu.
We’ll also need any AP scores, CIE grades, CLEP scores, IB scores, or ACT / SAT Math scores once they’re available!

05

Finish "Placements" module

The sections in Next Steps Center > Placements will tell you what placements you may – or may not – need to take.
IMPORTANT: You must complete the "Placements" module EVEN IF you already have dual enrollment / college credit or past test scores!

What are placements?

06

Set Up Zoom

Download the Zoom application, log in using your university-provided credentials (NetID and password), and familiarize yourself with Zoom’s features and settings.

ORIENTATION DAY

01

Open your orientation schedule

Go to CatCloud Calendar and select the "University of Arizona" login option. You will be able to see (and access) your required session(s) for the day.
Eller students, check CatMail for an email called "Preparing for Orientation Day with Eller College" OR "Welcome to your Transfer Orientation"

02

Meet your Academic Unit

Whether you're meeting with both your Academic Unit and an Advisor -- or just an Advisor -- you will get to discuss your first semester courses as a student within that academic area.
Some majors will only have one meeting for the day. Don't worry, that is totally normal!

See STEP 1 for Zoom link(s).

03

Departure with an OL

End your orientation day by briefly checking in with an Orientation Leader (OL). They'll make sure you have everything taken care of and all of your questions answered!
